Put simply, no. Being a trauma-sensitive educator is primarily about how you teach, not necessarily what you are teaching. For example, if you are reading a book to the class that may be potentially triggering for a student, a trauma-sensitive approach would be to check in with them afterward- “was there anything that jumped out at you? How did this part make you feel?” Help them talk through their emotions and label their feelings. The MEHRIT Centre is a resource that can also help.
